Problems that clients face with this type of injury and what the law says.
Claims for this type of injury often relate to industrial accidents, where the individual has been working with a hazardous substance and has been offered inadequate eye protection. The extent of the injury will often depend upon the period of exposure to the hazardous product and how toxic it is. Compensation claims with lower awards may include those where an eye injury has healed fully after a few weeks. More serious injuries may involve the loss of sight in one or both eyes, or may involve serious long term sight problems. Such injuries can be very distressing, and can affect people's ability to work, as well as their confidence in their day to day life.
